Hi, I'm Alice! I began my canine journey in New Zealand. It all started when I got my first dog Kyro, a white German Shepherd, who has shown me just how great the human - canine relationship can be. Together we hiked mountains, swam in lakes, skiied down snowy mountains and competed in agility. He also showed me how fragile the body can be and how easy it is to miss subtle changes in behaviour, posture and gait. I decided that I wanted to learn more and so my journey began!
I initially qualified in Canine Behaviour and then went on to become a qualified Canine Hydrotherapist and Laser therapist. Since returning to the UK, I have added Canine Merishia Massage to my toolbox. My goal is always to provide the best level of care and treatment to the dog, working with them at all times, rather than on them. Feedback from the dog is so important, and I use this to tailor, adapt and modify my treatment plans as I go.
I am based in Kirkby Lonsdale, which sits right on the Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire borders. I love spending time in the Lakes, hiking with Kyro and exploring these mountains that we now call home.
I am part of the Association for Merishia Massage Therapists and International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT), ensuring that my work is regulated to the highest standards, I can demonstrate continued professional development, I am fully ensured and that I adhere to the Veterinary Act 1966.
I look forward to welcoming you and your dog into my care, helping them to live their most comfortable, pain free and best life.
